Yosemite Continued...

One of the things Ammon really wanted to do this summer was go camping with Pap at Yosemite. So Jack, Jeff Ammon and Elijah spent a night in a "cabin" at Yosemite Lakes Campground (all the tents were booked). The kids had a blast. Pat and Sarah stayed with Patrick about 10 minutes away in a hotel/motel. The campground had a lake that the boys enjoyed swimming in too. Thanks Jack for going "camping" with the boys! The second night Patrick went home with Pat and Jack and Sarah got the priviledge of staying in the big fancy cabin. (12x12, double bed, bunk bed and a tiny table with 2 chairs.) Jeff warned me not to tell ghost stories...but the boys didn't think my story about gas prices was very scary so I told the Fenton Family tradition story of Doomfries Castle...they were scared. And I actually was a little nervous too, listening for bumps in the night. It was great fun. The next day we headed to Sunnyvale to spend time at Ammon and Eli's favorite place in the world...Pap and Grams house.

The boys loved riding their bikes in the basin. Jeff told them that as a teenager he rode his bike with a community group from the Bay area to Yosemite! About 176 miles. (All you cycling friends won't think that is so tough! But the kids thought that that is pretty far!) It was fun to hear all of Jeff's memories about a place that is so special to him-glad the boys got to hear the stories too when we were actually in the park.
